The Community Centre was built in 2001 and was under the control of North Herts District Council (NHDC). After an initial period, the Centre was handed over by NHDC to the Great Ashby Community Centre Management Association (GACCMA) on the 1st May 2007.
Great Ashby Community Centre Management Association (GACCMA) was legally formed as a limited registered company in October 2006 and were awarded charitable status and registered as a charity with the Charity Commission in December 2006.
The Community Centre aims to provide a balanced and vibrant community facility offering a wide range of community facilities to the residents of Great Ashby and beyond.
The Centre is the focal point of community activity and plays host to a number of voluntary projects and community groups. The facility is also available for hire for private parties and functions.
